NEWS- OCTOBER 2026 - EXIM Commits Up to $7 Billion for Argentina: An Opening for the Supply Chain
The new U.S. financing framework targets energy and critical minerals. The companies that supply these projects have a role to play.
On September 23, 2026, the Export-Import Bank of the United States (EXIM) signed a framework with Argentina to make up to $7 billion in financing available through 2027, under the U.S.–Argentina “Build the Future” Framework.
What was announced
• Priority sectors: critical minerals development and processing; energy security and grid modernization; digital connectivity and secure systems; commercial space and advanced technologies.
• Tools: loans, loan guarantees, working capital guarantees, and export credit insurance.
• Largest share: about $6 billion has been indicated for the Argentina LNG project.
What it means
EXIM financing is not a grant. It helps projects in Argentina purchase U.S. equipment, technology,y and services. Every purchase involves suppliers: U.S. companies that sell into Argentina, and Argentine companies that install, maintain, and service what is bought.
Large projects already have their international law firms. Many of their suppliers do not. They need to register, sign contracts, handle taxes,s and meet buyer requirements in two countries.
